This backwaters adjacent to Nandini River always enticed me on all seasons. The scenic backwaters looks like fork of Nandini River flowing adjacently. On my way back from a family gathering at Surathkal, I stopped here for a while to capture the scenic view accentuated by monsoon season. The coconut trees, the mangroves, the ruddy creek cumulatively framed a perfect landscape scene. The nature blushing with greenery during monsoon is never-miss
The creek looks magnificent with naught flow. The reflection of the trees off the water is just splendid. On multiple occasions I had glimpses of such sight but couldn't stall vehicle for few minutes to capture those glory. Hopefully, someday I will capture them for sure during winter and have walk along this green stretch. It was ephemeral stay lasting just 10mins. Parking nearby busy highway with soggy ground and no official lay-bye was risky and uneasy. The same night we would be returning to Bengaluru after brief enjoyment in native for 2 days amidst the monsoon rains.
A real estate project is being carried out adjacent to this beautiful backwater. That's egregious project which may destroy the mangroves in long term. Mangroves are proved to be resilient to high tides, nurtures marine life and also ecologically sensitive vegetation.
Not sure how an administration can approve such nasty projects nearby the nature preserves. Its hard to imagine the shrilling sound of excavators & trucks replacing chirping birds & rains. It is grieving to leave the beautiful coastal Karnataka during monsoon season and such projects tarnishing the beautiful nature hurt furthermore :-(.
Beautiful scenery.
ReplyDeletepics are awesome...name of the river is super awesome :-)
