Pangala new bridge almost ready

Here is some good news. The Pangala bridge which was demolished of yore, is finally rising to a new look with fresh 4 lane almost nearing completion. This bridge is part of four lane activity ongoing from Kundapur to Surathkal branded as National Highway 66 (erstwhile NH-17). Even though the construction had gained pace during the inception of project, the hurdles were primarily land acquisition and litigation. Now all the obstacles seems to have been eradicated and brand new bridge has finished the first 2 lanes. The other side of activity is also ongoing at brisk pace. Soon we can view the brand new completed bridge and hopefully smooth traffic. The reason behind abandoning old highway bridge is because of skewed path. This arrangement took commuters by surprise during night hours and resulted in numerous accidents due to oblique turn. Eventually authorities had to demolish relic bridge and choose an alternative cleaner way. The current path is designed with smooth curvature and proper alignment. Here are the pictures for you! The old landscape can be found here
