Skywatch Friday - Torrential Monsoon Rain

This time my visit to hometown was filled with Joy and undoubtedly that joy stemmed from the glorious onset of Monsoon rains with thumping velocity :). Since the 1st June, the monsoon left occasional impression on the floors of my village and with my intrusion to village it gained momentum with thick droplets pounding the surface of my beautiful village. Despite the complexity & precaution required in capturing the monsoon clips, my soul desperately wanted to snap such a scene which we witnessed for the first time in this year. It almost precipitated close to 160mm that day and my joy was amplified. The precipitation repeated in subsequent days as well with equal quantity and intensity. Here are the first glimpses of monsoon rains from my village this year. Hope you enjoy the pictures as well short video.

Also our relatively minuscule dam was also brimming with muddy water was testament to ferocity of monsoon rain that pounded overnight.

It was day when monsoon clouds over troposphere crumbled culminating in torrential rains which pounded thick droplets over the landscape of my village. Here are few clips from the day of deluge for you. This intensity remained for 3 more days brimming our minuscule dam and swelling the rivers. Hope you enjoy the video.

Some clips are shaky due to juggling of umbrella and camera together :).

Skywatch Friday - Memoirs of Kukkarahalli Lake, Mysore

Off-late, I am drifting through the nook & cranny of my archive hard disk. In the process, I realized that lot of pictures have not been shared anywhere, or looked upon. Many of the instances, I just used to click and chuck them into the hard-drive without acting on them. However, now I am realizing how enchanting they are and plucking them up whenever I find time. It also brought back my golden yesteryears when I used to click for my own rather than for display. Nowadays, I usually scout the metal storage for untouched snaps more than grabbing new pictures. One of the outcome of such an excavation, is idyllic scenes of Kukkarahalli lake of Mysore. Hope you enjoy the visual series grabbed during our jaunt along the lake.

Those were the last days of my sister's stay in Mysore. I wanted to take advantage of roaming around the Mysore city before my sister migrates to Mangalore. One of the trivial but familiar place in Mysore, also which is proximity to my sister's house was Kukkarahalli lake. It has beautiful landscape covering wide area. Walkers can stroll around the periphery at restricted time interval. One fine day, when all planets converged at right positions ;), we also set out for evening jaunt. It was winter time and huge flock of aquatic birds topped up our visit. Here are the shots which I am sharing for the first time in my blog to revisit those memories.

Skywatch Friday - Terrace Sunset 2

There is plenty of rain in Bangalore resulting in plenty of spectacular drama over terrace skies. As the monsoon season approaches, the troposphere is brimming with intense hustle of clouds accompanied by flashing & rumbling skies. Oh my God! they are splendid to watch and of-course photograph. I have also captured humongous series of timelapses which I will be sharing near future in my YouTube channel. Everyday, there is colorful drama over the skies and beautiful painting on the canvas of stratosphere robed by thick nimbus clouds! The skies look calmer & elegant after rains which is wonderful sight to enjoy and capture. Here is second series of pictures captured over a period of week and hopefully nature will glisten in upcoming days as well for me to enjoy :).

Skywatch Friday - Drifting storm from rooftop!

I must be really called lucky this Wednesday. Somehow my instinct tempted me to setup timelapse in north-west direction which I usually do not prefer. However, that weird setup finally resulted in beautiful storm formation and its movement. Wow! I never thought and it happened and hence lucky :D. It all started when patch of nimbus cloud swelled to large monolith cloud resulting in storm at the horizon. The event started with slow formation of storm and later drifting towards east. With onset of monsoon in cards, these phenomenon are quite regular. However, the scene of storm formation requires patience and keen observation. I did not predict this storm and all of sudden it happened. This type of precipitation is difficult to predict as well. It is the beauty and divinity of mother nature which nobody can transcend. Since I had no clue on storm, my setup was purely of serendipity (of-course patience was in place!). Also gradual glowing of stratosphere topped up the beauty of storm movement. Here are few shots of epic sky with gestation of storm and its movement. While it rained heavily under the roof of thick nimbus cloud, it rained beauty nearby our place. I have splendid timelapse too, which I will share in upcoming days! Enjoy the short series as of now 8-)
