A short evening stroll along verdant trails of Cubbon Park

There is no respite from blistering Sun and cityscape is burning like blast furnace. With no trace of pre-monsoon rains, it is difficult to venture out of house. Also none of the places except beaches are worth visiting during these days. The only option is to explore the proximate locations within the city itself during evening hours! It was Ugadi evening which we chose to visit the cubbon park whose trails are shrouded by towering vegetation situated amidst towering city traffic noise and towering concrete edifices. During holiday, authorities prohibit usage of connecting roads situated within the cubbon park for vehicular traffic, which means more fun & freedom. After parking bike at designated parking lot, we began strolling along the verdant trails flanked by tall trees adorned with fresh reborn leaves. Below are the glimpses captured by my optical friend during jaunt. Despite the cloud stricken atmosphere and hazy weather, the HDR shots turned out well. Hope the natural pinnacles of cubbon park last long and does not fall prey to the real-estate goons.

Skywatch Friday - Watching the drifting storm!

These pictures were snapped almost 3 years ago. I was glancing through these archaic moments from my archived hard drive which drove me to share the drama over stratosphere in my blogpost. What I am really impressed was the clear representation of drifting storm. Also we were lucky that day visiting Manchinbele reservoir and experiencing manifestation of nature. Mind wishes to relive those moments! As of now, I can only rejoice them in pictures and hopefully this monsoon I will have replay of such moments.

The Glass House, Lalbagh, Bangalore

For a maiden Bangalore visitor, the primary attraction is none other than the beautiful Lalbagh. Lalbagh is the only nature perceptible currently in Bangalore and serves as quick relief from baking cityscape. Inside Lalbagh, people throng to visit the Glass House at first sight. From many years, authorities have been conducting flower shows inside glass house captivating the ever busy city crowd. The crowd is getting is larger every year and also the flower shows are turning innovative aligning with contemporary trend. Every year on Republic Day(26th January) & Independence Day(15th August), authorities host flower shows inside this Glass House captivating souls of citizens. The flower shows usually lasts for a week. It is festive fervor for photographers especially macro enthusiasts. With most macro lenses lacking Image Stabilization, it may be difficult to snap steady pictures amidst packed & shoving crowd. Since flower show lasts for a week, photo-enthusiasts are advised to visit during dry days. Apart from flower shows, Horticulture department do host few fruit festivals such as  mango. grape & orange during fitting seasons.

All about glass house! This is what placard nearby glass house says.

The pictures are pulled up from my archive which were snapped during my visit 3 years ago. Hope you enjoy them!

Skywatch Friday - Lalbagh on Good Friday!

This is sequel of our jaunt along Lalbagh trails from here.

No tripping nowadays, a little bit brake solely due to non-availability of four wheeler. publishing buffered posts is my current work. It's quite frustrating if I don't wander towards rural parts of India at-least once in two month. However, overwhelming spring heat and lack of proper transport is somewhat holding me back from traveling. Also apart from beaches & mountains, there is nothing inspiring to visit during summer (I may be wrong). Consequently no photographs from past 2-3 months. To break-free, myself with sweetheart, finally broke the downtime this Friday and visited not so far Lalbagh to experience simulated rural vibe. We started at 4PM from our home and reached Lalbagh in matter of 45 mins. This time was specifically chosen to enjoy few moments of melting Sun behind Lalbagh lake. The hazy weather did not enable me to take striking shots but managed colorful shots during Sunset. Here are the visual representation of those moments of joy of our Friday on Good Friday.
