Deserted kapu beach and absconding monsoon

24th September 2018

The ravaged roads through the valley of western Ghats have impeded the inflow of tourists from plains of Karnataka to coastal regions. Consequently, the coastal beaches are deserted and kapu beach was no different. While it was joy for any photographer to have crowd-free shoreline, negatively the shops are devoid of business due to slump in tourists. The crumbled hills tumbled the tourists inflow into the region.

The highest gainers were none other than my little masters. Sparse human presence enabled toddlers to wander uninterrupted without fretting, etching their tiny footprints over the sun lit sheen dunes. At the outset, the kids were frightened by the awkward scenes of wavering water but later settled down. They also spent tiny moments dabbling in sea water and beholding the ebb and flow of sea tide.

Do YOU SPOT PEOPLE!

Anybody can roam freely. There is abundant space :-).  Even this guy is no exception except for lack of visitors will hamper his appetite :D.

The sparse visitors means ample time to contemplate on perceptions! It also means expressive landscape pictures.

The torrential rains that were making to summit of newspapers are now downright absconding. Roiled up creeks turned transparent.  The moisture on the ground has evaded. It has been a month since my village saw any rain. The river bed is completely dried up and boulders are exposed . Such scenes were seen only during onset of spring. As per Hindu calendar this season is called varsharuthu, meaning season of rains. Ironically, the rains are absconding in coast since the onset of varsharuthuDoes these bleak scenes purport further disaster? Man cannot win over nature. At least now humans need to learn the hard way

The clouds in sky foreboded colorful conclusion and they did meet the expectation. The interspersed clouds made up the beautiful evening sunset to conclude day on happier note. The blistering evening was worth bearing. Hope rains will resurrect in the region.

This year's eccentric weather is just tip of iceberg. In future, we may have to face severe punishment from nature if not learnt from today's mistakes. The coorg avalanche is nature's first warning and more will ensue if humans do not act in prudent manner

In hindsight, nature wants us to learn from eccentric weather. It wants it's lost space back. It wants us to garnish the western ghats again with rainforest trees.
But the greedy politicians will make this far-fetched . Because they don't dwell here.

An update!!

Whenever I moan of absconding rains, the troposphere roars with full energy. This may be co-incidental but it has been raining in village from past 3 days and with full vigor. Humid weather has finally hailed the moisture laden clouds to our tiny village. The prayers are heard and rains provided short respite from the sweltering weather that has been beating down the coast from past one month. The rains finally broke silence for good and the moisture is picking up once again. The incident shows how capricious the weather can be!
