Lock-down is slowly being released in our country. Co-incidentally, the rains have also released their lock on our region. The rains continued for the second day and there were two mighty showers to cool down the ground further and replenish the ground water. The heavy clouds which gathered at 5PM did not disappoint us. The joy was two fold both in form of heavy shower during evening hour and capturing the beautiful dark clouds at eastern horizon. As the clouds approached the region with mighty thunder, the velocity of winds also picked up. We were confident of good rain since the clouds did not disperse :-). The rains started with high intensity from the start and continued to pour for nearly 20 minutes. What a wonder it was!
I was jubilant while beholding the rains which matched the velocity of monsoon rains. The intense humidity which lasted throughout the day though did not show any sign of receding. This hinted at one more spell of rain since the skies were still filled with heavy clouds. Expectedly, yet another spell of ear shattering rains post 7:30 and again lasting for nearly 20 minutes. It was memorable day and finally night cooled down. We had cooler weather and slept with blankets ON. Eventually, superstition has been wiped away by the back to back rains. My presence is no longer jinx for missing rains. Rather my impatience was the root cause for it :-).
The moisture laden clouds rolling up
Here is wide angle view of the activity which we are eagerly waiting to happen above our head.
A huge band of dark clouds has emerged and storming towards our village
And they almost arrived waiting for the right moment to precipitate
And here goes the beautiful rains. A great video at the end to enjoy the scenic rains
The video of the rain felt relaxing. Nothing beats a good downpour especially on a hot humid summer day.
ReplyDeleteOn my side of the world, I'm hoping we'll get some warmth soon. Our temperatures are still in the 40s and it's been a cloudy grey week.
Take good care and stay safe.
Thanks for the kind comment on my Skywatch post.
ReplyDeleteThere is currently little rain here in Germany.
The farmers complain a lot because the harvest is in danger if it stays so dry.
It looks very different with you!
best regards
Stay safe and healthy
Looks like bad weather is coming
ReplyDeleteGreat grey sky shots.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots!
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining here a lot in Chicago-land area. Enjoyed the sounds of the monsoon. I have never heard one and been in that kind of storm. This month we have had rain, wind, hail, snow, and sunshine 80 degree weather. I've been told that if you hang around this area long enough you will like our weather. LOL
ReplyDeletePretty shots. Nice to have a good soaking rain!
ReplyDeleteWow....amazing shots!
