Green fields, sturdy mangroves and highway expansion -- a short musing of a nomad

A predictable muggy day of coastal Karnataka.. monsoon has taken permanent back-seat for this year. Every year monsoon season is on down-trend and this time the plunge is steep! The overnight bus journey coupled with breakdown of chariot (we shifted 3 buses) tuck me in arms of morpheus. A short slumber during local commute somewhat balanced the delta. It was almost complete after banquet meal in in-laws house.

After savouring lavish feast & soothing sleep in in-laws house near Kundapura, with regained energy,  I started back to my beautiful village. Hitherto, I was only glancing in my retina towards the expansive backwaters of Kundapura and it was time for a change. While on the way, I realized there is lot to experience with nature. Instead of boarding bus at the nearest bus stop, I decided to have long leap of 1.5kms towards next stop to enjoy nature. The verdancy of monsoon was still alive despite the paltry rainfall. I continued my jaunt along the hot bitumen surface with cool glimpses of nature, snapping pictures dear to my eyes. Here is the short scribe of my exploration of that one km trail bounded by scenic landscape. All the pictures, emotions described here solely articulated by me and not stolen which is tantamount to "I own the rights" too ;). What was intended to be a candid photo-walk transformed into a intense rambling. Hope you enjoy the the nature and natural emotions from the jaunt.

FIRST GLIMPSE

THESE HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY

These backwaters are consequence of tidal waves of Arabian sea ramming towards shoreline.
Everyday, they raise during day & fall during night but never refrain from chore.
The backwaters are endowed with enchanting mangrove trees.

EXHILARATING BACKWATERS
HOPE I HAD TIME TO DESCEND

The fishing, nature & road work.. all in one!
PANORAMIC VIEW
A TINY SHIPYARD

The highway expansion from Kundapur to Karwar is in full swing and pillars are getting ready to bear heavy vehicular load.
It is easy to convince nature for the sake of civilization & you never know when it rebukes.
Rather than admiring nature, emotions of my soul inverted after glancing the highway work.

ROAD WORK ALONG RIVER BODY
HOPE THESE FOUNDATIONS ARE STRONG, UNINFECTED BY CORRUPTION
Idyllic views of mangrove landscape.
Soon this patch of placid nature will bear the additional thrust of swarming wagons and their nauseated howls.

DISTANT MANGROVES

The backwaters flanked by beautiful mangroves and green paddy fields shortly will witness their termination.
Mangroves which are bulwarks against Tsunami waves are facing wrath of impending devastation.

These scenes will last only for few years.
The treevilization will soon succumb to vandalism of civilization.
Civilization is fast modernizing at the cost of nature.
Nature is not keeping quiet and diminishing monsoon every year connotes its retaliation
THESE TREES WONT REACH MATURITY

The brewing demise of upright mangroves is inevitable.
These Mangroves will be obliterated owing to the onslaught of modernization.
Whatever covered here is delta scene out of colossal devastation of nature carried out in name of highway expansion

The nature is always victimized to superfluous demands of mankind

The shrilled honks & shock waves of movement will be more closer to this house.

Safe for now!!

Never knew a short stroll would concoct such an elaborate story. Usually I keep these feelings to myself rather than expressing with people (including closer ones). This avoids de-motivation in form of parody and will sustain my enthu. Moreover, I scribble for my own experience rather than flaunting with anyone. The only bragging portion is of-course sharing post with like minded people!

In the end, I am normal citizen who adorn the blog with snazzy pictures with alluring metaphors. I am just trespasser who spew few words about conservation of nature (so called green earth) and want electricity which swallows humongous of vegetation and wants transportation which imbues toxic to atmosphere and wants concrete house which emits dust towards stratosphere and wants glossy furniture which axes long trees and ..balderdash! Next time I watch them, the nature is demolished and my post still alive in corner of some remote digital surface in 1s and 0s

An orthogonal scribe:

I wished to scamper down for a while towards river bed and talk to fisherman & catch few glimpses. Possibly, also snap few frames of Sun soaking the backwaters with its golden light. You know, the clock was ticking and it was  impractical. At the outset of stroll, I even thought it was not wise to carry a camera as it would violate the societal taboo. At the end, I held onto my camera ditching the taboo. Despite realizing that it would embitter many, few dubious thoughts surfaced in my mind.

i) Accept what you cannot change (clock) and when opportunity knocks, revel in solitude
ii) "Be yourself" is contemporary cliché which is difficult to follow. By being yourself, one cannot appease everyone simultaneously if you want to pacify everyone, you cannot be yourself. Its a vicious circle for which I will be judged for sure :) (may be hipster!)

After numerous clichés its time to reach niche. While copious rains create thundering waterfall descending from the cliff, copious sun light created sweatfall descending from my forehead ;). I boarded the bus towards my beautiful village after brief walk for a km.

Right Right!!
