Once we moved from Bengaluru North to East, one of our important task was to locate the nearby lake for unwinding. There were tiny lakes nearby area but mostly surrounded by lush urbanscape than vegetation. After searching through maps, we located the Kalkere lake which showed 9kms from our area. On a fine evening, we visited the kalkere lake from Byrathi side. The sky was partially cloudy which implied beautiful scenes around sunset. The crepuscular rays showed up as expected.
Kalkere lake is vast and also fueled by treated water. Its widespread than Jakkur Lake. Perhaps the periphery spread around 5+kms? That would be good workout! The lake is well maintained and also islands located where aquatic birds nest. The vegetation is dense but slowly intruded by high raise apartments. We strolled for 2+kms before returning to parking lot. One of the visitor suggested us to enter via other gate which was just 3kms from our house! We earmarked the place for our next visit. Here are maiden pictures!
Before we explore, this weird yet beautiful cloud formation attracted my camera lens!
The entrance boards. The weird cloud stayed for a while.
The reflection of the cloud mass over still water was enticing
The vegetation!
The water body and islands. Many pelicans were enjoying evening Sun
Beautiful skies.
