Foggy Morning, Muggy Evening, Masth Playing :-)

27 February 2021,

To start with Masth means fantastic in Kannada/Hindi. So do not consider it as misspell of English Mast :-)

The fog is persisting for third day today and its unusually thick. News papers report vehicles turning on the headlights till 8AM. But as mentioned, the weather is not resembling the fog formation. Day by day the humidity is soaring and today it feels like 85+. The cloud activity during day is also triggering hopes of mild showers to cool off summer heat temporarily. Here are some pictures from today's morning walk through the fog.

Meanwhile this large canopy is dwelling for multiple bird species. I have seen paradise flycatcher, orioles, ashy drongo, tailorbirds and why not the flame throated bulbuls which are endemic to western Ghats everyday. I am waiting for luck to have these bulbuls near my camera or even upgrade the lens to 600mm :-D

Today was one of the most happiest day of my life. Guess what! My kids came out of phobia and played in sea water enthusiastically. Their clothes were drenched in ocean water and the joy was genuine. Thanks to daughter of my cousin, whom my toddlers followed to have maiden play in sea water. Our patience finally paid off! The kids breaking the phobia was welcome event for us. Some children take time which is case with my sons as well. All thanks to Lord for keeping us patient. While kids were playing in water, I had couple of beach sunsets to capture.

This bird was majestically perched on boulder. Looks like Eurasian whimbrel which migrates to coastal areas.

The pacific reef heron, was busy capturing the fish along with waves. The marine creatures which cannot resist the force of ocean waves, settle on these rocks when waves move over it. I guess the heron was busy picking them. This was during dusk after kids finished playing in ocean water. Hence, not a clear one.

A beautiful full moon to conclude the day

  3. Fabulous collection of photos. I especially love all the sky shots and the ones with fog. It is great news that your children can now get in the water. I pray they will learn to love and learn to become strong swimmers.
