Skywatch Friday - Shivagange trails & prowess monkeys

Shivagange hike is popular among Bangaloreans as weekend getaway. Apart from hike, it also hosts some of the archaic temples worshipped as sacred destination. The last time I hiked Shivagange with my co-operative friends and this time it was with my sweetheart. It was her first experience of real hike as well which she managed more than my expectation! Apart from enjoying the greenery surrounding the region, we also breathed warm wind with scattered monsoon clouds. The intermittent cloud cover provided temporary shelter right beneath the blazing Sun. Reaching the summit, it was relaxing to be seated at the peak of windswept Shivagange hills. Despite the rampaging monkeys, it was wonderful day with perfect weather for hike. Below are visual summary of landscape we witnessed during the day with help of our optical master! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

FEW MILES AWAY!
LOOKS LIKE A SHIVA-LINGA FROM DISTANCE
THE POND AT THE ENTRANCE

All of these joy comes with package of growling monkeys to reckon with :(. The sultry weather provokes the intrepid monkeys strolling along rails to snatch the water bottles from the hikers. Their mischief is imperceptible to fatigue body unless co-hikers scream at it :). The nimble monkeys resort to open daylight robbery to quench their thirst & hunger. Monkeys investigate nook and cranny of surrounding area as well your bag to find traces of food. Once found, they are adamant and aggressive to seize the food. Monkeys constantly pester hikers for food in their bags. if not found, they may even create ruckus by spoiling belongings (including camera accessories). They even ruined my timelapse set-up :(. If you possess food, either be ready to fend off monkeys or turn submissive :).
