06 July 2019
I had an opportunity to drive along SHiradi ghat this peak monsoon season. Even though July is termed as peak monsoon season, the activity in ghat area just started a week back and its yet to gain full momentum. As I have been mentioning in previous posts, this year we have poor monsoon show with rare water logging. Those days of glory when land + river were merging are no more to see this year. The ghat areas as well witnessing healthy rains only from past 10 days. The heavy rains which outset few days back are blooming greenery on the western ghats and brimming water bodies. The turbid water is a clear indication of intense monsoonal activity. The rains which were lurking from past one month since the onset of monsoon are finally here to cheer the vivacious rainforest. The shiradi ghat road which was laid last year afresh, is still bearing the same fresh look though the unfinished part is on the verge of being unmotorable. Despite the fact that roads are dilapitating due to the high load trucks, the nature is splendid to behold. One of the drawback of bad roads is that it digresses your attention away from nature.
Here are initial pictures caught. I love those thick dark clouds kissing the crest of dense hills
During our short break in midst of dense jungle, I managed to capture the vibrant forest and enjoyed the healthy air emanating from verdant rainforest. Here are the transit pictures from Shiradi ghat.
The roaring gundya river is also captured to have visual feel.
And a short drive with heavy monsoon rain. The rain drops were so thick that it felt as if someone was pelting stones at car windshield.
During the midday journey these are the not places to fall into deep slumber. The scenes of nature is to fill your soul with refreshing thoughts and feel the divinity of nature. Unfortunately this time, not all creeks are rushing, not all waterfalls have energy thanks to subdued monsoon. Hopefully we soon have that monsoon energy back on to the vibrant rainforest
