Bird Series - Spot billed Pelican

After a long gap, we visited Jakkur lake. I had the opportunity to see the pelicans swimming over the lake. The lake is well maintained and has plenty of water. The island inside the lake, water and plenty of flora makes it ideal for bird stay during summer. There are many species of aquatic birds here.

The evening visit was fruitful in terms of bird watching. However, the harsh sun due west made it hard to snap the pelicans clear on the frame. Pelicans were happily swimming and feeding on fish. I was happy to spot them here. Perhaps, morning light would be ideal to shoot birds at Jakkur Lake. Choose another promenade near railway track if you are visiting during evening hours and interested in bird photography. Here are the pictures of pelican shot for record. Their bill has spots and hence the name. Meanwhile, the security at the entrance records every person who carries DSLR. I did not understand the intent of such book keeping. The mobile phones are equipped with high resolution sensors which can match the potential of DSLRs. Not sure why such ledger for DSLR carriers. Good thing is there is no fee :-)

And a beautiful sunset to conclude
