Padubidri Blue Flag Beach

Being close to our native village, we decided to have look at the beach today evening. That was easy drive for 45 mins and reached comfortably with help of google maps and signboards.

Our maiden visit to the Padubidri blue flag beach was indeed splendid. We were enthralled after viewing the arrangement in the beach area. Nothing to point fingers at cleanliness and the maintenance. The material used in beach is eco friendly and most of the benches are made up of bamboo. There are small seaters made up of wood. The most enticing part of the beach is the expansive sea shore. One more best part is the scenic marine drive from Padubidri beach to Blue-flag beach comprising of 1200mts. The beautiful backwaters is additional charm to Blue-Flag beach.

The beach has large parking area and umpteen facilities. Probably blue flag tag requires so many facilities. The facilities include water treatment plant, drinking water facility, wash tap, dress changing cabins separate for men and women, clean toilets, children play area, beach guards, segregated waste bins placed at multiple locations, safety rope to play in beach, sufficient warning plaques and many more. What the place lacks is good snack shop. The current snack shop serves only samosa which is not fresh and few cold stuffs. Fortunately, the food items are not overpriced. Many staff members execute their duty diligently especially warning people of sea depth, guarding plastic bags, supplying drinking water etc.. All facilities are constructed from bamboo wood. My suggestion is to construct promenade along the backwater to increase the attraction.

Ever since the beach was crowned with blue flag status, the visitors have increased exponentially. There was heavy crowd this Saturday as well.

Fees:

Rs. 20 car parking. Wide parking area facing the backwaters.

Rs. 30 entrance fee. Free for children 4 years.

Timings:

Guess Morning 8AM to evening 7PM

Photography tips:

Carry wide angle and Telephoto lens. The backwater is flourishing with mangrove vegetation. Plenty of birds might be visiting during morning hours.

Conclusion:

Good for one time visit. Not a great place for playing in beach water due to abrupt depth. Kaup still remains the best place for playing in beach water.

I request everyone who visit coastal Karnataka beaches to maintain cleanliness of marine regions irrespective of local or international status. Hope the beach retains same charm eternally. Request visitors to exercise utmost care in maintaining the beach cleanliness.

Very less pictures in this post. There are plenty to watch in the video below. Have a look at it full length :-)
