We had an opportunity to visit KotiLingeshwara temple at Koteshwara and Kundeshwara temple at Kundapura on the day of Mahashivaratri. We sought blessings of Lord Shiva to lead us in right path. I could not shoot pictures of Koteshwara temple due to lack of time but shot few of the pictures at Kundeshwara temple at Kundapura. Kundapura town derives its name from Kundeshwara temple which has historical importance. Both temples were crowded obviously on occasion of Mahashivarathri. Fortunately, there was no queue. This was the time when COVID was in downtrend and we could visit the temples without any hassle. Once the divine view of deity concluded at Kundeshwara, we had tasty snacks at Kundeshwara which are distributed on occasion of festival. This included Avalakki Puliyogare, Kadale Usuli, shunthi juice and Payasa. All of the items were tasty and we savored the festival goodies.
Lord Shiva statue is constructed amidst the temple pond which is delightful to watch.
The temple visit concluded within 30 mins. The entry past the welcome-arch of temple which is located in main road is restricted during festive occasions. Only two-wheeler is allowed. Consequently, it was difficult to find parking space owing to the festive rush. I spent nearly 15 minutes just to identify designated parking area. Due to frequent patrolling of traffic-police, it was not practical to choose arbitrary parking spot. The traffic-police also extremely strict during rush hours and crowded festive days. Who wants a ticket at end of day :-)
